Sanctuary in Moín, Costa Rica. A beautiful place near the beach to learn a lot about different animals. You will be taking care of monkeys, sloths, owls, turtles and a lot more, who, unfortunally, are living in this center. Abusing animals is still a problem in Costa Rica, and they need a lot of help! It’s a special place to take care of the injured animals and at the same time meet a lot of different people and learn Spanish!

I’ve booked two weeks volunteer-work, but stayed four weeks, just couldn’t leave the place. Bed and food included :)

  13. I am currently volunteering at Awamaki and the programs are really great! There is a small fee for volunteering, but if a volunteer completes 6 months, half of the fee is returned to the volunteer! Those who stay for less than 6 months will not receive money back, but it is worth it all the same!

  15. Hello all,
I want to share with you the unique volunteer opportunities the Kitega Community Center has to offer. The organization is undertaking many different projects and needs volunteers within the area of education, construction, healthcare and agriculture and farming. There are also opportunities for people who want to volunteer for HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention projects and Women empowerment projects as well.
Among the sites given above there is a link to the Kitega Community Centre website, but that is the old link.
    The new website is: http://www.kitegacc.org
If you are interested you can check the website or you can send an e-mail to: info@kitegacc.org

  16. A volunteering opportunity in Guatemala!

This is a great chance to be part of something new and to make a difference within Petén’s communities. Las Cruces and the villages surrounding it are seldom visited by tourists, giving volunteers the opportunity to truly integrate themselves with the local culture and make a great impression amongst those they help.

Volunteers will be working with the town hall, helping on community projects in Las Cruces and surrounding areas. You are likely to be working with the Women’s Office (Oficina Municipal de la Mujer), a department created to promote women’s rights, change discriminatory attitudes and provide the help needed to create a society in which there is gender equality. The specific work you will be doing will depend upon what projects will be running during the period you are volunteering. Should you have particular vocational skills or experience, you may be able to use these to great effect during your time here.

There is no fee to volunteer, and volunteers will just have to pay for their food and accommodation. Furthermore, as we are not an organisation, the volunteers won’t have to pay anything to us, but directly for the food and accommodation themselves (although we will help them find accommodation prior to their arrival).

Take a look at the website for more information!
