Volunteering Opportunities in Morocco – 3 Organizations

Morocco is a country in the northern area of Africa.  It is a magnificent place to visit if you want to experience the Arabic culture.  Located on the Mediterranean sea, it is a country that is popularly visited by sea.

The country has everything to keep you busy for a long time with its markets, stunning mosques, gorgeous white sanded beaches, buildings from medieval times, cruising along its gorgeous Mediterranean coast, and terrains that range from sand dune to snow covered mountains.

For those of you who want to experience the beauties of the region and help out at the same time I came up with a short list of volunteering opportunities, check them out.

Empowering Women and Children in with CADIP

CADIP is a non-profit organization with project in tons of countries around the world. They are now looking for volunteers to work with them in Morocco teaching kids and helping local women to develop projects that will improve their lives. Requirements include being motivated and open minded, speaking English or French and having necessary skills to help out with the projects.

This is a full time job with two days free per week and all volunteers stay with a local family. They also ask for a fee of $470.

Teach Filmmaking in Morocco with Filmmakers Without Borders

This is a 100% funded project so you won’t have to pay for a participation fee. However they do ask for at least one year of commitment. During that time you will be asked to share your knowledge and skills to students in small communities.

Humanitarian Work-Camp with Association Volontariat et Échange Culturel

The project takes place in a village close to Ouarzazate. During the time you work with them you will live with a local family and will help with tasks such as painting the school and participating in daily village life.

This opportunity goes for 2 weeks but you can stay for two more if you want to be part of part 2 of the project. They do ask for a participation fee of $200.
