UCESCO (United Cultural Empowerment and Social Community Organization) is a Voluntary, Non-profit making, non-political, equal opportunity and non discriminatory organization registered and headquartered in Kenya as an NGO Reg NO- OP.218/051/14-0208/9643, with an agenda of having a community-based approach in social issues empowerment in youths, persons with disability and the less fortunate in the society
Currently we are carrying out Economic empowerment project dubbed “Kuku Kumi Plus” (Kuku Kumi is a Swahili word meaning “Ten Chicken” in English). The project is aimed at raising school fees for poor parents, training on poultry rearing and starting poultry farms and kitchen gardens for the parents in rural areas of Kenya. And we are offering volunteer and internship opportunities for only 15 volunteers from USA and Europe at any duration comfortable for them.
For volunteers there are training opportunities, chance to be immersed in rural Kenyan community and work alongside local staff members and a few of the tasks are handling or interacting with the animals, administration, fundraising and taking pictures or videos. Also Volunteers are involved in the hands-on teaching and care-giving, as well as the administration and general management of the organization
