Volunteer in schools with Niños de Guatemala

We are a Guatemalan based NGO, focused on improving access to education in Guatemala and offering a brighter future to our children. We initiate small-scale development projects within communities, and we are proud to introduce our three schools: Nuestro Futuro and Basico, in Ciudad Vieja, and El Porvenir, in San Lorenzo el Cubo. During the morning we follow the government-approved educational program, whilst in the afternoon, children immerse themselves in extra-curricular activities or take extra tuition.

Volunteers play a fundamental role in our organization, bringing energy and enthusiasm to all our projects. Whether offering an exciting extra-curricular activity, or assisting in lessons, or tutoring students in the afternoon, or even just giving attention to a child that is struggling, our volunteers allow us the opportunity to give our children more individual attention.

The afternoon programme allows our volunteers to design and lead their own activities, whether it is sporty, arty, musical, theatrical, crafty, the possibilities are endless. Our teachers greatly appreciate the help of our volunteers as they often bring a bit of creativity from their own cultures and backgrounds, stimulating innovation and enthusiasm from our own pupils.
