Teach English in Nepal

Type of placement- English teaching in Nepalese government schools.

Description of duties at placement- Spend your days helping the children with speaking reading and writing alongside local English teachers. Most of the children come from poor backgrounds and see English as the way to get a better job so all are anxious to practice with the native speaker so you may find yourself in demand. Based in a local government school you will not just be contributing to the standard of English but to the local community as well where you can take extra classes for adults if you feel confident enough.
Please note compared to Western schools you will be working with scarce resources and improvisation is a key.

Placement Location- We have various placements depending on what you require, choose the foothills of the Himalayas where its very basic living right down to Chitwan where there are more home comforts and being near the jungle a little warmer.
All the schools are government owned and a % of your fee will be saved to open a library for the school.

Accommodation- Will be provided by the local families near to the school, each one carefully selected so at least one member of the family speaks good English in order that you can communicate effectively. Also you will find that the local families in the home stay programme have been chosen because they also have good standing in the community and can introduce you to the traditional Nepalese village life.

Time duration- From 2 weeks to 5 months.
