Volunteer with Children at Social Risk in Chile

VE Global (VE) recruits, trains and organizes international volunteers to achieve our mission of fostering the positive development of children at social risk in Chile. VE has successfully integrated nearly 450 full-time volunteers from more than 35 countries into our network of 8 local children’s homes, community centers, schools and preschools in some of the most vulnerable areas of Santiago.

VE volunteers help implement our four educational programs: *¡Vamos a Leer!*, *Festival de Arte*, *Liga de Deportes* and *English in Motion*. Each volunteer is placed in one of our partner social service organizations where they mentor children in a variety of ways, from assisting with homework to playing games to creating and running their own workshops and activities. Volunteers build strong relationships with the children for whom they provide support, friendship and the chance to just have fun and be a kid.

Our volunteers also form part of the VE Global committees, helping in Programs by working to improve our educational programs, or assisting with Development through communications outreach and fundraising efforts. This gives volunteers the opportunity not only to grow and learn professionally at an international NGO, but also to have a sustainable impact on VE Global as an organization. Because of the delicate nature of working with children who have been abused or neglected, we require that our volunteers join our team for a minimum of four months, with a full-time commitment.

VE charges *NO* fee to volunteer.

See the application section on our website

Volunteering opportunities with children in La paz, Bolivia

We invite you to find out about our volunteer opportunities! Since 1995, Para Los Niños has worked with children and young adults who are wards of the State due to abandonment, abuse and neglect. We work in coordination with Social Services Department in 12 state run homes and institutions which house children from birth to 18 years of age, orphans and abandoned children, young offenders, victims of violence, sexual traffic, domestic abuse, and intellectually and physically disabled children. These state homes are understaffed and poorly funded. PLN aims to support them with activities and projects which are adapted to meet the development, educational and health needs of the children, youths and young adults.

Volunteers are vital to operation of our programs. They run extracurricular development focused activities, stimulative therapy (for children with disabilities) or work in the the office. Our posts are quite flexible and require no money to participate. To find out more please visit the volunteer pages on our website: www.boliviaparalosninos.org

Free volunteering with Thai Animal Sanctuary

We are desperately seeking volunteers to work with us to provide a lifeline to animals in distress in NW Thailand. We are always seeking volunteers and have no requirements except basic English, motivation and initiative. We are especially seeking volunteers with veterinary experience, vet nurses and vets.

We have a sanctuary where we have around 50 dogs who either live here permanently due to medical conditions or are waiting to be adopted. We will take in any sick or injured animal and provide medical care, food and shelter.

We conduct regular sterilization and vaccination programmes to humanely control the populations of animals in the area. Come and be a part of something amazing! Get hands on experience of working with animals, give your time to a truly worthwhile project. It is free to volunteer with us, you can have free vegetarian food in the local school and we are able to provide limited free accommodation, though priority for this is given to volunteer vets.

Check out our website and get in contact for more information :)

Posted By: Butemba Lokeris Jonathan

Kawempe Youth Center is a registered non government organization in Kamapla, Uganda whose mission is to build literate communities through providing educational, information and recreational programs. We envision communities in which young people including children are informed, self-reliant and independent.

We are interested in working with individuals(and groups) on short, mid and long term volunteer placements within the ECD-HIV/AIDS program. The placement requires individuals to have basic knowledge on HIV/AIDS, child development and basic research skills. Individuals who have some experience as Early childhood educators/specialists are highly prefered. However, every one with a keen interest in HIV/AIDS and would like to utilize his/her skills in alleviating the effects of HIV/AIDS is welcomed.
