Exciting 9 month volunteer placement with the Spanish Red Cross – Tarragona

We are looking to recruit 1 volunteer, aged 20 –28 (applications from those up to 30 will be considered) who will live with other EVS volunteers in Tarragona, Spain over the course of a 9-month placement, from September 2010. The placement has a social work focus and will working in a Spanish Red Cross residential house for people living with HIV/AIDS who have been homeless. The volunteer will support and run activities, accompany medical visits and encourage the service users to gain independence and confidence.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with high levels of motivation and commitment to gain hands-on experience of working with the Spanish Red Cross in a social work capacity. All travel, food and accommodation costs will be covered through the European Voluntary Service (EVS) scheme. In addition, volunteers will receive a small monthly allowance and Catalan lessons, and comprehensive insurance will be provided.

  1. hello my name is jessica villagomez and i was wondering if we had to buy our own flight tickets. i do not have much money because i am in. i can not afford thousands of dollars because i am still a high school student and my mother recently told me she is expecting another baby and she is a single parent. i wanted to know if there are special programs offered to people like me that dont have much money but would love to be apart of this experience
