Exciting 9 month volunteer placement with the Spanish Red Cross – Manresa

We are looking to recruit 1 volunteer, aged 20 –26 (applications from those up to 30 will be considered) who will live with other EVS volunteers in Manresa, Spain over the course of a 9-month placement, from September 2010. The placement has a youth work focus and will be split between the

Casal-ot project with younger children, Ludugurus, a youth centre, and JNA, which is an outdoors sports project; all projects providing psycho-social support to children and young people from vulnerable backgrounds (immigrants, low socio-economic and travelling communities), as well as providing a programme of activities and an environment for support with homework and games.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with high levels of motivation and commitment to gain hands-on experience of working with the Spanish Red Cross in a youth work capacity. All travel, food and accommodation costs will be covered through the European Voluntary Service (EVS) scheme. In addition, volunteers will receive a small monthly allowance and Catalan lessons, and comprehensive insurance will be provided.

Deadline for applications is 1^st August 2010 and interviews will be held on Thursday 5^th August in London.
