Volunteer In Brazil

Looking to Volunteer in Brazil?

My name is José Henrique, and I work for Instituto Cultural Zigma, which is a non-profit organization that is supported by a big Brazilian company called Zigma. Zigma is a company with over than 40 years in the Brazilian international trade market. To accomplish their dreams of social development, their founders founded Zigma´s Cultural Institute to offer to the Brazilian population educational, professionalizing, and health support. We provide you with the opportunity to volunteer in Brazil.

We´ve been acting in a very small rural area, given to its population many different kind of assistance. Now is time to drive our work to a new level, we´re expanding our horizons to give quality assistance to much more institutions and places.

At this time we´re recruiting volunteers to fulfill this growing demand. I´m one of those who lived at a very small village assisted by the institute. So this way I´m contacting you to see if we could establish a partnership.

For now we´re needing people to teach English, music, manufacturing arts, sports, painting and many other activities to help Brazilian children and hope you can help us to give our children all the opportunity they deserve. Please let us know if you are interested as we would love to have you volunteer in Brazil with us.

2 Brothers – Volunteer Brazil

We are a nonprofit organization based in the United States and Brazil whose mission is to provide educational opportunities in the favela of Rocinha in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, through local and international community service and cultural exchange.

We have taught English, French, and Spanish at a variety of levels to people of ages ranging from 3 to 43 years. To date, most of our activities have been held at the Escola Moranguinhos, which has graciously ceded us space in the evenings and on weekends. We are currently seeking to expand and set up a community reading room in our own building to serve as additional classroom space and a study area.

We have also carried out a variety of other activities, including children’s art classes, computer training, children’s reading groups, excursions, health awareness seminars, and special events.

Our annual Halloween party has become a tradition since the year 2000.

Due to the small size and intimate nature of our organization we are open to the ideas of volunteers interested in creating new programs (even temporary ones). For more information, click here.

Amigos de Iracambi – Volunteer Brazil

A little bit about us. We’re a non profit organization, Amigos de Iracambi, supporting a Research Center which is based on a sustainable forest farm where we can put our ideas to work. We’re in the buffer zone of the Serra do Brigadeiro State Park in the mountains of the state of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil. It’s an area of extraordinary beauty, abundant water and exceptional biodiversity.

The name Iracambi comes from the Tupi Indian words “ira” (honey) and “cambi” (milk): our vision is to see this beautiful land of milk and honey restored, with thriving communities living sustainably in a thriving landscape. We’re doing this through our research, our programs and our projects, working with the community to make the conservation of the rainforest more attractive than its destruction.

It’s a big job and our strategy is to create unusual partnerships – college lecturers with local schoolkids, international volunteers with farm families. Every year we welcome dozens of people of all ages and backgrounds, volunteers, researchers, interns, and professionals from five continents who spend anything from one to six months sharing their skills with us and learning new ones.
